- Sempozhil - Chennaiyil Oru Gramathu Thiruvizha is India’s largest Urban Village Festival: One of a kind event celebrating the diversity of our traditional farming, native livestock, food, culture, arts, sports.
- Sempozhil is a celebration aimed at recreating the greatness of our heritage rooted in our villages. At Sempozhil, we present the opportunity for Chennai people to immerse themselves in a variety of content that open the doors to our yesteryears of glory and diverse traditions.
- The visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the diverse native livestock breeds of Tamil Nadu, our deep rooted and evolved traditional farming practices, the importance of organic food, the value of leading a low impact lifestyle and ways to do the same. The festival will be a feast for the mind, body and soul.
- The village festival themed event features :
- All breeds of livestock native to Tamil Nadu from cattle to horses to dogs to poultry.
- Informative aids to the people on traditional, sustainable and natural farming practices and how livestock are intrinsically linked to farming.
- 200+ stalls displaying a wide array of traditional, organic food grains, pulses, snacks, eco friendly products, clothing and more.
- Display of native arts, crafts & livelihoods linked to livestock and holistic living.
- Stalls that will educate people on the importance of poison free food and the wholesome, balanced diets of our traditional cooking methods.
- Performances that will display traditional and forgotten rural artforms like Parai Aatam, Karakattam, Oyilattam, Silambam etc.
